For almost 40 years GT STRUDL has been one of the most widely accepted computer-aided engineering and design tools for structural analysis and design. It is trusted and used globally by thousands of engineers to deliver accurate results, quickly and efficiently.

Proven Track Record

GT STRUDL is one of the most widely used fully-integrated and adaptable structural analysis solutions in the world. The software has a proven track record in a variety of applications such as: nuclear and conventional power generation, on- and off-shore facilities, marine, civil and infrastructure, and others.

GT STRUDL is capable of supplying engineers with accurate and complete technical data for efficient and engineering and design decision making. GT STRUDL is a market leader in its field for quality, reliability, and technical support.

Nuclear Quality Assurance

Since 1983 the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program and procedures GT STRUDL have been some of the industry’s most rigorous, and have been in full compliance with applicable provisions of the U.S. NRC’s 10CFR21and 10CFR50 Appendix B regulations. In addition, GT STRUDL QA procedures are in full conformance to the ASME NQA-1-2008 including the 2009 Addenda Subpart 2.7 (NQA-1a-2009).

The QA/QC program and procedures of GT STRUDL are routinely audited by independent auditors from nuclear industry corporate licensees several times each year, and by auditors representing NUPIC (Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee) and NIAC (Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee) on a three year cycle.

Each version of GT STRUDL, is validated and verified (V&V) for its computational quality and performance by the execution of over 350 base verification test problems that are documented in the four volume Base Verification Manual, and by the execution of approximately 4,700 general verification test problems for a total of over 5,000 V&V test problems.

Feature-rich Integration

GT STRUDL is a fully integrated and database driven software system for general finite element analysis and comprehensive structural engineering design. GT STRUDL has nine functional areas that operate seamlessly with one another, and combined with amazingly fast computational speed, provides virtually unlimited power and flexibility for projects of any size or complexity.

Analysis

The linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analysis capabilities of GT STRUDL are respected globally and few programs possess its depth and breadth of functionality. GT STRUDL includes all the tools necessary to analyze a broad range of structural projects, from the simplest, to the most complex, and can do so accurately and reliably in a fraction of the time of many other solutions.

Steel Design

GT STRUDL Steel Design provides the structural engineer with the ability to perform steel member design and code checking pursuant to a large variety of global steel design codes dating back to the 1960’s. These details are extensively documented, enabling the engineer to review the details of its code checking procedures.

Steel Design cont…

GT STRUDL enables engineers to have extensive control over the steel member design/code checking process through a large number of control parameters, specification of absolute and relative geometric constraints, member size smoothing options, automatic analysis/design iterations, and many more control options. This control enables engineers to deliver optimal designs in the most cost effective manner.

Base Plate Wizard

Complex steel Base Plate modeling, linear and nonlinear analysis, and performance evaluations can be performed using an easy-to-use and full featured graphical interface. Users can model base plate criteria including holes, notches, and tabs, anchors, attachments, stiffeners, bearing surface data and boundary conditions representing shear lugs, and edge welds etc.

Reinforced Concrete Design

GT STRUDL Reinforced Concrete Design can be used to design beams, columns, one-way slabs, shear walls, and two-way flat plate and flat slab structures per ACI 318. With special member, floor slab and wall panel automatic generation capabilities, even complex reinforced concrete building structures are easily modeled. GT STRUDL also provides detailed quantity take-offs based on design results. A great deal of engineering time can be saved with this capability.

Offshore Jacket and Pile Analysis

GT STRUDL provides the ability to analyze and model environmental loadings such as wind loads, cyclic wave loads, current loads, buoyancy loads, launching and lifting loads, and seismic loads that are applied to offshore structures such as fixed jacket structures, cable stayed and tension-leg semi-submersible structures, and other rigid floating structures.

Both linear and nonlinear analysis, jacket launch, stability and upending analysis, fatigue checking using Power Spectral Density, Discreet Probability, and Deterministic methods, stress concentration factor calculations, nonlinear pile-structure interaction analysis, and code checking by the ISO 19902:2007(E) and API RP 2A-WSD 21st Edition can be performed.

Import/Export of Structural Model Data

GT STRUDL has the ability to import and export models via CIS/2 and other interfaces. This allows structural data-rich models created outside of GT STRUDL to fully leverage the power of GT STRUDL and for external packages to benefit from the advanced power and benefits that GT STRUDL offers.

User Documentation

GT STRUDL is supplied with comprehensive and detailed user documentation that clearly identifies the product’s functionality and capabilities. The product’s functionality, application of cutting edge technologies, implementation of structural mechanics, theoretical formulations, and design code specifications are all fully and clearly laid out to give the engineer a full and clear understanding of the solution’s capabilities.
